Full Super Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse

What a magickal month this is! As if welcoming the New Year with a solar eclipse was not grand enough, tonight we will experience both a Full Blood SuperMoon and a Total Lunar Eclipse. If you have been waiting for the right time to make a move, this is the perfect time. If you have been contemplating a change, the moment of transition is here. If you have been altogether avoiding, or even attempting to prolong a release of some sort, the hour of peace is approaching. This is the revolutionary year of change and commencement.

This week will be one of reflection, expression, and alteration. The Moon represents our intuitive instincts, which we are, most of the time, unconscious of; and, as we all know, the moon reflects the light of the Sun, and her phases, if we pay attention to ourselves and our environment, illuminate the different areas in our life that need attention and reprieval. When she is Full, we are able to reflect on the thoughts that we may have been unknowingly pushing away. This weekend we will enjoy the light of a Super Moon (when the moon is closest to the Earth), which signifies the reality of a fulfilled actualization. And, because there is a full lunar eclipse, we will experience a Blood Moon, which, in certain areas, may make the Moon appear reddish in color, as the light of the Sun is contorted through our atmosphere. The reflection of this contortion helps us not only see where we need to make adjustments so that we can come into balance with ourselves, but also gives us the vitality and stamina to make the necessary adjustments-modify well thought out plans, release dispensable responsibility, let go of things that have served their purpose and are no longer needed.

This amazing phenomena takes place during a transitioning Moon. The Full Moon begins in the sign of Cancer, and ends in the sign of Leo. How magnificent! We are able to acknowledge our suppressions, and recognize our repressions; we are able to balance our personal needs with our shared obligations and intimate commitments; we can find fervor in self-fulfillment, and ease in the acquittal of affairs that are no longer imperative. This week we can make peace with ourselves. We can be ok with letting go. We can open ourselves up to receive the opulence of what is to come.

Did I mention that this was a magickal month? Take a deep breath. Let your shoulders come down away from your ears. Allow yourself to experience the wonderment of such a time as this
