Winter Wake Up

Grand Risings!!

That is my New Day greeting. No mourning morning-be it good or bad. I have risen again, along with the Sun! How wonderful! How grand! A fresh, new start! I made it through the drama that will now and henceforward be called Yesterday. I can begin again! And it will be better! So, so much more better!

And that’s how I start my day. With those thoughts. And while I’m thinking those thoughts, I also focus on deep, intentional breaths, and bringing conscious awareness to my body. You know, wiggling my toes and fingers, gentle neck rolls, pulling my knees in for a hug and then releasing and expanding myself. And then, after I’ve rolled my eyeballs around in my head both directions, I pull the covers back, roll myself up to standing, and then head to the bathroom to freshen myself up.

This freshen-up routine is of the Ayurvedic influence, and includes dousing my face with warm water, scraping my tongue, a lymph massage, and oil pulling. Next, I make a fresh pot of tea, light a candle, and think of 3 things that I have to be thankful for today that I can consciously show gratitude for. And then I focus on my Vision Board for the month while I finish my tea and watch my candle burn.
